This super easy DIY Christmas card idea is great for those of you with a Silhouette, Cricut, or other type of cutting machine! The cards are three layers, including two card front layers and the base, though the Peppermint Joy Card Cut Files include an optional third layer for the card front. This is included for projects where you’d like the alternating peppermint “O” stripes to be a different color than the card base.
The Peppermint Joy Card Cut Files are super versatile. For these cards, I used the Silhouette Cameo’s print and cut feature and several patterns from the Sweet and Merry Seamless Plaid Digital Papers set for top layers of the cards. If you prefer not to use print and cut patterns, you can cut the top layer from any patterned paper that you have, or you can use solid colored cardstock. I think the layers would also look great with textured paper or even metallic or foiled paper. Lots of possibilities for different looks!
These cards use the A7 version of the Peppermint Joy Card cut files, which feature a white margin around the “JOY” area. An A2 version is also included, and it does not include a white margin. The “JOY” area is the full 5.5 X 4.25 inches, though you can easily change the size in your cutting machine software.
