I just added a fun, new set of digital patterns to the shop! The Happy Birthday Digital Patterns collection features balloons, birthday candles, party hats, numbers, hearts, and more in a rainbow of colors for birthday-themed projects and beyond. Also included in the set are 9 solids that coordinate with the colors in the collection. DIY Die Cut Cylinder Holiday Gift Boxes

Cute Christmas Cylinder Gift Boxes from K.becca

I am so super excited to finally be able to reveal my new holiday gift box collection! These boxes are sure to add a special touch to all of your holiday gifts and treats, and they’re pretty darn cute, too, if I do say so myself. The collection includes Sparkle the Reindeer, Elvin the Elf, Santa Claus, Elfie the Elf, and Simon the Snowman, all in gift box form. The lids of each lift off to reveal the treats and gifts inside.

As you can probably see, these boxes are not what you’d call a quick and easy project, but much of the assembly process is the same from box to box, so once you get the hang of it, it really speeds up the process. I’d allow about an hour to an hour and a half for the project, from cutting the pieces through assembly.

One of my big recommendations for these boxes is strong adhesive. After several rounds of experimentation, I found that a combination of liquid glue and dry, double-sided adhesive was by far the best. And I highly, highly recommend Scor-Tape for the boxes because 1) it’s strong and holds very well, and 2) it’s easy to place it exactly where you need it, right up to the edge. When you check out the step-by-step assembly tutorials, it looks like I used a ton of Scor-Tape, and I did use quite a bit, but honestly my rolls of tape don’t look like I’ve made much of a dent in them. Each roll has 27 yards, which is a lot of tape and a very good value.

Speaking of assembly tutorials, I’ve put one together for each box, and you can click on any gift box image below to be taken to the corresponding tutorial. I hope that you enjoy these boxes and that they’ll have a place in your stockings or under your Christmas tree this year!

I’m a Zazzle “Sew Good” Challenge Winner!

Zazzle "Sew Good" Challenge Winner : k.becca

It’s always been a dream of mine to have a fabric collection that features my patterns, and I was totally jazzed when Zazzle recently added fabric to their line of available products. Shortly after, Zazzle held a “Sew Good” design challenge, and you know I was all over that!

Well, imagine how excited I was when I found out that I was one of the “Sew Good” overall challenge winners. Woo hoo! Being chosen has really given me a nice dose of encouragement and hope that I might actually have a chance at having my own fabric line someday. I guess that, technically, I already do!

Stay tuned, because I’m planning on adding many more fabric designs to my Zazzle shop in the coming months. Here’s a peek at some of the patterns that are already in the shop:

How to Make the Charmies Cereal Box Card

How to Make the Charmies Cereal Box Card

This sweet, cereal-themed box card is a great way to send a “good luck” message to someone you care about, and today I’ll be showing you how you can assemble your own. Can you tell that I had a lot of fun designing this?

How to Make the Charmies Cereal Box Card

Here’s what you’ll need:

Charmies Box Card Tutorial : Step 1

Step 1:

Die cut all of the card kit pieces. Fold the box card base along the score lines, and add double-sided adhesive (or glue) to the short side flap.

Charmies Box Card Tutorial : Step 2

Step 2 :

Fold the short side flap in, line it up with the back right side of the card base, and press the card base flat to adhere.

Charmies Box Card Tutorial : Step 3

Step 3 :

Attach the side panels, back panel, and cereal box logo (top left corner) to the card base. Attach the first piece of the rainbow element to the front of the card. I attach the corner piece first – in this case, the blue piece – because it makes for much easier placement of the rest of the pieces of the rainbow.

Charmies Box Card Tutorial : Step 4

Step 4 :

Attach the rest of the rainbow pieces, taking care to line them up along the top, sides, and bottom. The bottom of the rainbow will start to form the outline of the “charmies” cloud.

Charmies Box Card Tutorial : Step 5

Step 5 :

Attach the cloud piece to the bottom of the card.

Charmies Box Card Tutorial : Step 6

Step 6 :

Fold down the scored flaps at the top of the card.

Charmies Box Card Tutorial : Step 7

Step 7 :

Fold the rectangular card inserts (2) along the score lines and set aside. Attach the marshmallow charm pieces to the cereal piece.

Charmies Box Card Tutorial : Step 8

Step 8 :

Attach the finished cereal piece to one of the rectangular card inserts.

Charmies Box Card Tutorial : Step 9

Step 9 :

Add glue or double-sided adhesive to the side flaps of the card insert, fold them back, and carefully lower the insert into place inside of the card. I positioned it about 3/8” from the front of the card, but you can place it wherever you like it best. Press the insert flaps against the sides of the card base to adhere.

Charmies Box Card Tutorial : Step 10

Step 10 :

Experiment with where you want to place the “good luck” ticket piece before you attach it to the second card insert piece. I wanted mine to be at a bit of an angle, but you can angle yours however you’d like. The only thing that you’ll want to make sure of is that your finished card will still fit your envelope.

Charmies Box Card Tutorial : Step 11

Step 11 :

Attach the “good luck” ticket to the second card insert and position the insert inside your card in the same way as in Step 9. I placed the second insert pretty close to the first, about 1/4” or so behind it. Press the card flat to adhere the insert and to make sure that the ticket doesn’t stick out beyond the card too much if you’ve angled it.

Charmies Box Card Tutorial : Step 12

Step 12 :

Open the card to test its movement and to make sure that everything is properly positioned.

Aaaaand you’re finished!

The I Heart Ice Cream Collection + A Freebie

It’s been a while! During that time, I’ve moved back to my home state, searched for a house, bought a house, undertook a major renovation of said house, adopted two kitties and, let’s see, what else? Well, I’m sure I’ll be filling you in on the above here and there, but today I want to let you know that I’ve launched my first new collection in quite some time.

I’m celebrating all things ice cream with the “I Heart Ice Cream” collection, and this seems an appropriate time to introduce it since July is National Ice Cream Month. The collection includes a set of ice cream-themed patterns, die cuts, die cut ice cream cards, and clip art for both commercial and personal use. Previously, commercial licenses on my products weren’t available, but this is something that I’ve wanted to do for a long time, and I’m so excited to be able to share my new clip art and digital stamp products with designers who are looking for some fun elements to include in their creations.
