I use this to draw my standard bullet journal pages then glue-stick the pages into the journal. They come out perfect every time. If you're using multiple colors it is a bit tedious to remove the tool, unscrew the chuck, remove pen, insert next pen and align, secure chuck, and reinsert into the machine. That's not such a big deal when you consider you can use almost any pen of any size and you're not locked into using the stubby pens that Silhouette sells. The Silhouette pens are definitely easier to swap out - remove color A, insert color B - but I'm not sure how much ink is really in those and when you consider that you can buy a box of 60 stick pens for $5 from Amazon and the Silhouette sketch pens are a little over $1 each (based on MSRP of $19.99 for the 18-pen starter pack) it's a no-brainer that this accessory will pay for itself pretty easily.
I think, in general, this adapter should work with most ball point type pens, but probably not marker type pens. Not only must the pen fit down the top, but the writing point must fit through the smaller opening in the bottom. It comes with a small cap on the smaller bottom opening, this helps place the pen to the correct level while you're attaching the coupler.
Neat design, and opens up the possibilities!

It comes with three different 'sizes' to hold different pens - S, M, and L. It's a little difficult to keep track of these little guys, but I just throw them into a little plastic bag to keep them together.
One tip - there's a tiny 'cap' that goes on the piece that actually fits into the cameo. I thought it was rather pointless, at first, but it's actually how you're supposed to make sure the tip of the pen is at the perfect height to write. Leave that cap on and push the pen down until the tip of the pen touches that cap. If you don't do this, the pen might smear if it's too low!
